The routes on the map

On foot from Jemaa el-Fna
The walk is 2.8 km from the square to the garden entrance. From Jemaa el-Fna the route heads north into the souks along Souk Semmarine, then follows Rue Riad Laarous and Rue El Gza to the edge of the medina, about 1.9 km in. Outside the walls it crosses Avenue du 11 Janvier, follows Avenue d’El Jadida, and turns onto Avenue Yacoub El Mansour and then Rue Yves Saint Laurent, where the garden entrance is. The souk lanes are narrow and busy, with carts and motorbikes, so allow more time than the distance suggests and follow a map on your phone.
On foot from the railway station
From Marrakech railway station it is 2.5 km on foot, all of it on the streets of the new town. From the station square, Place de la Gare, the route follows Boulevard Moulay Rachid, then Rue Mauritanie and Rue Sourya, Rue Khalid Ben El Oualid and Rue Moulay Abdallah to Boulevard de Safi, and finishes along Avenue Yacoub El Mansour and Rue Yves Saint Laurent. It is a straightforward walk on pavements, and the easiest way to combine the garden with a train arrival.
Check dates for the visit with pickup
By petit taxi
The small city taxis, the petits taxis, are the usual way across town. Ask for the Jardin Majorelle on Rue Yves Saint Laurent; the car route from Jemaa el-Fna is 3.5 km. Agree on the meter or the fare before you set off. A car cannot reach most riads inside the medina, so you may walk a few minutes to the nearest road first, which is also how the hotel pickups on this page work for medina stays.

At the gate
Tickets are sold online only, so buy yours before you set off; there is no ticket sale at the gate. Large bags go to the luggage storage. The YSL museum is 194 m along the same street; see the YSL museum, and for the hours of all three, opening hours.
